About Toni

My earliest childhood memories involve a fascination with art, pouring over the art books my parents kept at home and painting and drawing for the sheer joy of expressing myself and making sense of what I felt and observed.

Despite this passion, I lost my artistic confidence as a teenager and went on to study businessy things (sigh) and embarked on a career in the corporate world.

Time spent living in London and backpacking through Europe, Turkey and the Levant enriched my love of art and its history through various cultures.

Back in Australia, work and children dominated the next several years of my life.

COVID was a reset time for me. Near the end of the pandemic, I enrolled in an 8 week art course and I have been painting ever since!

Today, working exclusively with oils, my art can best be described as a realism style through the combination of a loose, painterly technique with the application of intense detail to my work. My art is deeply symbolic, often representing societal observations, relationships, connections to and poignant memories of places and moments in time.
